AI-generated art check thread

Somebody tagged this as AI-generated but I want to make sure that the artist or whatever term is using it. If it is AI, I certainly can't believe it was good enough to fool me

Messy wrist bands. Finger melts into top bun. Left eyelash interrupted by bang. Thigh belts have uneven holes and their structures are incorrect.

I originally had this artist muted on both Twitter and Pixiv so I assume I must've thought they were AI-generated and just went on to post a few but figure I'll ask for a second look. A few of our Russian artists have that one kind of style that AI unfortunately copies or models after a lot so it can be hard to determine if it's human or not with "the style".

Artist works were AI-tagged on pixiv after uploads, dunno if need to doublecheck or purge from here

It's AI.
If you actually look at it up close you'll see diffusion noise where there should be solid colors. Even on their works that are "white background" if you take an eyedropper and scroll it around you'll find it alternates between 2-3 color codes. There's a few other tells but the easiest to notice is probably the Fern just look at the handbag. The button in the center starts melting into the strap and the latch at the end starts color fusing into the bag.

Definitely AI-generated.

post #9843620: it's the same pattern mirrored, cropped differently

post #9843685 many human artists don't draw scales and petals precisely

post #9843674 those patterns look clear to me: one brush size, four strokes per "flap"

Is AI any good at sketches? They have a single WIP on their Twitter (or a filter?). AI-generated is one thing but don't generators typically not use a sketch first? I'm thinking about AI-assisted to the level of eleaaa (who does clearly state they have AI help with their illustrations) or just the style of rendering that also unfortunately happens to be the common AI pattern.

For reference's sake, here's a list of artists who have Boosty meaning they're likely either Russian or offering an alternative subscription platform to those who can't use Patreon/Fanbox/etc: https://danbooru.donmai.us/artists?search[url_matches]=*boosty.to*&search[order]=post_count&search[is_banned]=false

I'm taking a second look at this and now I'm less sure.

asset #31539201 from post #9843726: Here the rendering of her hair ornament is far worse than that of her hair. For comparison look at other Skirk drawings.

asset #31539429 from post #9843685: Here it's unreasonable that the shadow under her hair intake connects to the illuminated side of her bang.

Also asset #31539892: The tattoo is perspectively incorrect, and the navel is weirdly blurry compared to it.

asset #31539614 from post #9843866: This is a really weird bunch of crossed bangs with locks of hair starting and ending more arbitrarily than natural.

Many AI generators can take user sketches as input, or take one generated piece and a user's sketch on top of it and modify that piece.

For post #9843705 there are visible toenails on one foot, yet the 'line-art' on the other foot looks like much bigger toenails. The toe sizes are also inconsistent. The shadow makes no sense, and its a large contrast from the 'effort' in shading.

Alongside what you've listed, these are the kind of mistakes/oversights you generally wouldn't expect from a human.

Hm... thanks for the input and discussion guys. I'll just leave it as is for now and people can decide whether or not it qualifies as full AI-generated and worth flagging, AI-assisted or just weird errors. I'll stop uploading any new stuff from them for now, and if there's a chance down the line I'll see if anything else comes out that may be able to substantiate their style more (or not).

madamadadaneye feels kind of off, plus their Twitter handle and Pixiv display name ending in "ai" makes me suspicious.

post #9843404 The giveaway are the swords. Generally these will be trained on in-game screenshots, and this often tends to not include weapons. The sword on the back is picking up patterns from Skirk's legs. The structure (hilts, etc.) also does not really follow any of her actual weapons.

In general, I'm always suspicious when an artist appears without history yet is immediately outputting very detailed works.

Oh that's a good way to spot it. Looking at skirk_(genshin_impact) sword it's not even remotely close yeah. I also noticed that on post #9843403 the line that's her left chin just disappears after some hair and post #9843402 has the classic fucked up frills...
