What boorus? Danboru has different quality standards compared to most other boorus, so I would not expect the same posts active over there to be approved here.
I'm aware of the quality standards here after being here for so long. But no matter what I upload the chances of it being approved always comes across as random. I've tried uploading things of various qualities to narrow it down but it's still random. I'm at the point where I'm just throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks. I've seen what some contributors get away with uploading here (watermarks, small low quality images, random western furry art, etc). I know this place isn't strictly Asian art like Gelbooru but this isn't e621 either. Being a Contributor on another booru I know they have some leeway with their uploads and when it comes to approvers there is always some personal bias that can make getting uploads approved seem random but I've never seen a booru where it's this random. Following the rules, filling out tags, adding artists, fixing wikis, etc. seems like a waste of time after a while (not that I'm saying I won't do it).
Also just in case I'm misunderstood here. I'm not angry nor am I complaining, I'm simply just trying to figure out what the deal here is. There was a time I wasn't coming here very often for a couple of years and this randomness seems to have started during that time although that's probably a coincidence.

Forgive my bluntness, but if there is apparent randomness about posts being approved, it likely means the overall quality of art you're posting is at a level where an approval depends on the individual tastes of the approvers reviewing the work. In other words, you need to raise the quality of art you're posting. Don't just upload art that meets the perceived quality standards but exceeds it. Before I got promoted, I uploaded a lot of art by au ito, jimini shijimi, ito yoshi, and others whose art looked visually stunning; I had no issue getting any of that art approved. Art by jimini shijimi in particular was approved quickly, sometimes instantly. I also only uploaded nsfw art sparingly, since it seemed it was harder to get those works approved and I had a lesser understanding of what made such art passable. Once you've found an artist who is getting a lot of approvals, use Pixiv's recommended works feature; it helped me find a lot of good art. I also point you to forum #348811, which guided me when I was starting out here; topic #24186 is a must read as well if you're looking for art to post. Two more points of advice from me: look for art drawn by mangakas, since their art is probably already at a high level for them to hold that job. Also, I've found art used as backgrounds on Pixiv's login screen to be of high quality. While neither of those last two sentences are guarantees since I'm not an approver, they're probably good places to start. Lastly, on your points about contributors, yes, we do have more leeway than the average user, however we're still expected to upload art of good quality. If too many of our posts are flagged for poor quality, we do face peer pressure to raise our standards in the form of DMs and/or feedbacks. Without improvement, we would face demotion and the loss of our unrestricted privileges.

I so glad I'm not the only one who noticed this. I've had my share of experiences uploading nsfw art and sfw art back-to-back, and it's always the nsfw that has the higher approval threshold than the sfw art for some reason even if the sfw art is more simple than the nsfw art that has more work put into it.

I think the threshold for NSFW art is higher because it is NSFW. The proportions and anatomy have to be drawn well and be relatively realistic; rating:g work doesn't have this requirement because there's a lot of other factors that make such art enjoyable. Stuff like content, composition, color, etc. NSFW art is often about the bodies of the people involved, so the bodies have to be drawn well. Also, I think I do have a better understanding of what makes for good anatomy now than I did when I was still a member, and I upload more NSFW art accordingly. Of course, this doesn't mean rating:g art with bad anatomy is going to be approved, it's just a little less stringent in my opinion.
One last addendum since I forgot to mention this in my first post. When you encounter a new artist, make sure to inspect them for any signs of AI-prompting. Check if they have an artist profile here and if they have any deleted works. Doing so has saved me more than once from accidentally posting AI “art”. This may seem obvious, but AI has bitten me in the ass more than I’d like, even as a contributor.

If you can, wait some time and try to appeal, maybe somene could approve.
I tried to appeal the last one, but I had no such luck. It's confusing because I've already uploaded two posts just like this that were approved without issue (post #9665880, post #9670095) so like the others here have said, there's nothing you can really discern from seeing it get passed over
Also, does anyone know why post #9779397 only had 12 approvers on appeal but it's child that was flagged shortly after had 17?

There's nothing wrong with the quality of these, it's just the other clips of an already approved post (post #9828495)
This also, it's part of two other already approved posts, it was just not uploaded
Fenuier's works keep getting deleted besides their primarily vehicle drawings
There's no quality issue with them either

I'm still wondering what is so wrong with these posts that no approvers would approve of them, and yet multiple approvers are still uploading more work from this artist to this day, two of which are part of two approved posts.
post #9848011 : Surprised this one wasn't approved.
It might look rough around the edges but it's very cute for a quick sketch made for Bunny Day and it features the best Tamamo.
Please reconsider!
post #9847115 was published together with three other images (like post #9847104), all of which have been approved, but this image still cannot be approved.
Similarly, there is post #9830201 and its parent post #9819461.
Although the image is NSFW, its quality is not poor. If it cannot be approved, there should at least be a reason.
Hello, I'm trying to populate caucasus & slavic traditional clothes tag.
These were only reviewed by 6 approvers, and they are of the same quality as artist's other works on traditional clothing:
