I wonder, does this apply to unprompted sharing of opinions on any touchy subject, too?
What if people actually engage with the hornypost?

I understand most of those kind of posts are not at all engageable, yet I feel there is a kind of "persecution" on pervertedness on modern Danbooru, that sometimes reeks of self-righteousness.

Anyway, I come here mostly for hentai fanart, so maybe it's just me feeling singled out.

It's not a modern Danbooru thing, Danbooru has always been this way. You can find several old forum threads of people complaining about these kinds of comments since the site was created. Danbooru's userbase has never appreciated hornyposting, and has never been shy about this.

Anyway, I think this is a poor argument. An opinion on a "touchy subject" is a totally different matter from comment #2384214. That's not an opinion, that's creepy, overzealous thirsting towards a loli character. Even @Monki, well known loli enthusiast, doesn't make those kinds of comments. It has nothing to do with it being a loli character, either, before anyone tries that. Shameless thirsting like that looks bad no matter the subject.

If you want to comment like this is pornhub so bad, go to pornhub. It's not that hard to enjoy your smut privately. You need to be 18 to use this site, we are adults. Act like an adult with some class, not a teenage sex addict. You're more than welcome to go somewhere else if "Don't hornypost" feels like a personal attack.

I understand your points, thanks the input.

Pixiv is full of horny stickers and that is simply annoying and leads to no conversation, so I understand how hornyposting is bad.
Just how lots of "Hmmm, juicy feet!" comments appear here and lead to nothing.

But some kind of posting can lead to conversations.
I can't find fellow hentai fanart appreciators on porn sites.

Also, I just can't go away, this is the best repository site I know of.

Word of advise. Keep your mouth shut if you gonna say something horny and instead fap or something. No one here wants to read whatever you feel over a character of you lust on.

What exactly do people here want to read?
I'm curious, since, as far as I can see, almost half of the comment section is inane comments that get no engagement, bad jokes that fall flat, hateful comments that get downvoted or hornypost.

What do we post around here to engage with each other?

And I'm not simply being annoying, I'm getting curious.

You see, in the past I commented on kinks, got hated for it. Got it, we don't share kinks around here.
But I also asked for help on gaming problems, got called out for that too.
I even commented on funny events on gacha game event mechanics and got downvoted, apparently because this is not reddit.

The only topics I see getting traction are flamewars, and that is sad.
So, for reference, to what should I limit my attempts at engaging in conversation here?

I've been trying jokes, but I'm in the "bad jokes that fall flat" demographic.

Generally you want to talk meaningfully about the post itself in a way that adds something useful, add external information about it, ask a question about it, etc.

But also sometimes you'll get downvoted even if there was nothing wrong with your comment. It's just something you learn to ignore.

I just read the story and listened to the album, honestly, I think it's one of the best works ZUN has done in recent years. Not only is the music excellent, but the story is also very good, and there are several details like Renko's theory and Maribel's ability that are better developed here, you know, real story development. If you're a true fan of the Touhou Project and know what the previous ones were about, this one definitely won't disappoint.

Even the chosen songs (the repeated ones) take on a new meaning with this album. I mean, when you listen to the theme of Sannyo or Okina, you immediately think of the characters, but damn, it seems like ZUN thought of them for this album from the start, they fit really well!

As for the music, I have mixed feelings. Like I said, it's too good, everything sounds clear and sharp, but on the other hand, I feel like ZUN is giving us "leftovers" in the games when he can still make such good music (or even better), and this album is living proof of that.

Here, ZUN put all his love and effort into the arrangements and quality, while in the games, I notice he's super neglectful, I just don't understand it.

I don't want to end on a negative note, so I'll say this again: I really enjoyed this CD. I loved the new music and the story, damn, even the cover and the repeated songs make sense when you read the story. ZUN put a lot of effort into this album, something like this couldn't have been rushed or done half-heartedly. I definitely recommend this album, and I dare say it's easily one of the best. I have a lot of affection for Dr. Latency's Freak Report, but this one is just too good.
