It's always been a really bad idea, all the way back to the original mythology.
...but not necessarily for the reason you think. There's nothing about the food itself that makes eating it a bad idea, and the idea that there is is a modern invention. Rather, the issue was one of guest-host etiquette: eating the fae's food before being acknowledged as a guest, or eating more than was offered/required, was a transgression against hospitality laws of that day and age, placing the transgressor into a debt of obligation to the fae -- and that debt had a doozy of an interest rate! As long as you don't make those mistakes, you're fine on that front.
Alanis, killed by a fairy named Leaf (on other fronts, though....)
So, since I never played Black Souls. Though looking at the images and characters presented. Is the fairy referring to Red Hood when it is talking to Ruby?

Basically yeah.
Leaf...did some terrible things to Red Hood. Leaf changed Red Hood's story to be that of an emotionless girl who was abused and raped by her grandfather for years before Red Hood got the Wolf to eat him. She killed her grandmother. Her mother(Elizabeth Bathory) hates her, denies her birth, and tries to kill her. Santa Claus tries to kill her. She was made to be sexually inept to the point she only feels pleasure with animals. And the one time she finds happiness with a man and tries to live a happy life, she dies within a year because Leaf cut her lifespan.
Zana loves Will, he is her prince charming, from the stories of her childhood. Is also the first person she is close to that does not want to use her as a pawn or an escape goat. Yet, she is a dark elf. She was taught to be cunning, to hit her target where hurts most, to be unfair, to take whatever she can. She knows how to hurt Aubry, how to make the childhood friend break. However, i feel she also find it to be too easy. Too quick. Zana wants a challenge. A rival, for something she finds worthy. That is why she not just gave Aubry a wake up call, but also challenged her ("your move next"). I believe Zana would like Will to be happy with Aubry. But at the same time, she would rather be his lover herself. After all, she is jealous of Aubry, how much Will likes his childhood friend and how far they have been together. It is said everything is fair in love and war. So i look forward about how this battle for a celibate paladin's heart will go!
I'm glad that Bb sat down and continued this series. On the other hand, the characters are all unlikeable clichรฉs Oh look two women competing for a man, one is a bitch and the other is the foreveralone childhood friend Which year of flat female character writing is this, 1940?
Had to get one final poke in, didn't she? Yeah, but I don't think Aubry realizes just how badly she positioned herself with Will. She's gonna have to fix that quickly.
that translator is awfully misinterpreting the 2nd sentence.
If I were to hazard a guess I'd say they're heavily relying on OCR + machine translation. ็ฌใใช somehow got picked up as ็ตใใช and ใชใใ got turned into ๆฉใ. This isn't... really the kind of mistake a human would make. Even if they somehow read the kanji/kanas that way you just end up with completely nonsensical sentence WORD fragments that can't be connected together... except via MTLs that like to force "reasonable" sounding sentences even when fed complete garbage input.

That might be too. I think the translator should get someone to proof-read his TL's. Or else it will lead to unwanted confusion and error.
Edit: It is likely she isn't talking to trainer, but some lonely dude that mistaken Pisa's approach as if she likes him.
