Self-criticisms are still written in China last I checked, such as by misbehaving school children according to a Chinese expatriate I chatted with. And Xi Jinping Thought is a real thing that Chinese people are expected to adhere to, like Mao Zedong thought. And I just have this impression that in Asian cultures poor competitive performance on the international stage is treated a lot more harshly than in most other cultures - like something you'd expect from a stereotypical Asian parent.

If these kind of non-sense s**t really exist, The Chinese team would join the world cup way more times than the reality, in fact, the Chinese men's national football team has already become a typical example of being shiftless and shameless to be make fun of. 😅

Ridiculous amounts of stretching in this post aside, the voice line addressing Ayaka is indeed so out of nowhere it's hard not to see it as intentional jab.

The line refers to Ayaka's outfit, as it is based on that of a character in a light novel Citlali read and where Ayaka got the design from

It is specifically listed as "About Kamisato Ayaka", not "about Fontainian fashion and shit"

So? The point is that the voice-line itself isn't disparaging of Ayaka in any way. The only part that could be interpreted as being even slightly condescending is the "All Fontainian clothes look the same to me" bit which is so tame and impersonal that I'd hardly call it a jab.

To be fair, I agree that's it's probably not a coincidence that they gave the latest female love-interest a voice-line about the oldest female love-interest, but calling it an "intentional jab" is a bold interpretation. In fact, the exact intention and purpose of the voice-line is weirdly ambiguous, since it's not really about Ayaka directly.

That's because they seem to be under their respective film tags. At the very least, this let me deduce it was Pearl (2022), so thank you for pointing me in the right direction at least.
