I'm concerned that every time I upload any picture here to Danbooru some of them get approved but others don't

I completely understand that this post didn't got approved because it ran out of time post #2166667

however what i do not understand is why this picture is not even liked by the moderators even though i did followed the following procedures before uploading it? post #2767379

It keeps me worried about this and will make me question whether is a good idea to post pictures here on Danbooru

Following "procedures" has no bearing on whether an image gets approved or not, or whether an image is liked or not. The first one didn't run out of time, it is just not a good image. Shading is mediocre, with the artist displaying some working knowledge of light sources but failing to execute it properly with shadows that use too sharp a brush and make very sharp angles. The anatomy is more suited to chibi, with its enormous head, and the left arm is outrageously long based on the visible angle of the protruding hand. Background is a gradient, which is fairly common, but it should be subtle, and should not use black unless it is greyscale or uses a similarly dark value for the other end of the gradient. The linework is, like the shading, shoddy, with lots of sharp angles made on parts that would be better served with a single stroke of a tablet stylus.

While the second image is neither bad nor good, the artist made some pretty bad choices on composition. Composing an entire image using similar shades of red and pink? There is very little visual contrast, which results in the image feeling cluttered, because the eye is trying to track multiple things at the same time unconsciously.

@CodeKyuubi too bad then

Indeed. Take his advice -- he is pretty much correct, and I would have given similar feedback.

If you want an idea of what kind of art is accepted, just take a look at some of the most popular uploaders. The art you upload doesn't have to be amazing, but it should at least be of fairly reputable quality.

@Mikaeri I understand however this is the last time I upload pictures to my account, I cannot trust on a faulty approval system which is extremely selective and makes the efforts of all users look useless and I'm being honest here. Even I talked to Slayerduck and he said the picture is just fine as well as the fact that I take on searching for the best looking pictures as humanly as possible. This is not a rant nor a complaint only the truth here :)

The only way those images you posted could be considered top-quality art is if the site catered to postmodern/cubist art. I suggest you take your head out of the ground and open your eyes instead of remaining stubborn when you're wrong.

@CodeKyuubi well then, any helpful suggestions for future uploads? (Sorry I forgot to add that I have Asperger's syndrome)

As Mikaeri said, browse through popular uploaders, examine the qualities and aesthetics of high favorite/score art. The Popular and Hot tabs are useful, though you occasionally get 'okay' images bandwagoned to the top.

Linework, shading, composition, color choices, anatomy, proportions, all these things should be taken into account.

Why wasn't this approved but its children are?

I haven’t looked at the content because it has tags I’ve got blacklisted, but I’m guessing it’s because it’s Flash and Flash is dead, so maybe none of the approvers has it installed? I uninstalled Flash over a year ago and haven’t missed it since.

Want to know why these are not approved. I am a rare uploader, and I thought these are Danbooru quality, alas, they are not. I'll try to learn from these mistakes and prevent uploads like these in the future.

Though I myself might know why these are not approved

post #2756570: the eyes? other facial features? aside from Maki (Nishikino)'s skirt error.
post #2750842: The text? The pointy end of her witch hat? Also a minor error on the broomstick, the skirt and the sparkle
Are these the reasons (or part of it) why these are not approved? or they are not very interesting pictures...

There's nothing blatantly wrong with them (well, maybe shading in the first one), it's just that the content and composition is exceedingly boring.

For starters, you should maybe look at what's popular on pixiv and consider uploading what isn't already here. Anything with 200+ bookmarks is a safe bet as long as there's nothing wrong in anatomy/perspective, and either milestone tags (○○○users入り) or daily/weekly ranking should help you find some of them.

The thing is, I don't have a Pixiv account. I have been uploading pictures by using devtools on Chrome to read the img-master link then tweak that link to get the true (img-original) link. (One of my uploads was from twitter since I can't extract the true link from nicoseiga)
So I can't even search for the popular posts. My internet connection also is abysmally slow, and the popular posts might have been already posted by faster, unrestricted uploaders here...
Maybe I'll refrain from uploading for now, I can create a Pixiv account but at the moment I don't want to. Maybe I'll just focus on what I can improve here.
(I knew it, that those uploads are boring too, now I have two new uploads that are (relatively) pretty boring too so I expect them to be deleted after three days...)

Thanks for the feedback.

Ehh, if you aren't willing to do it we can't really help you. All the major Japanese artist communities require you to have an account to view work pages without having to go through the hoops. Of course you can continue using devtools and change the link to the correct one but that's unnecessary effort since booru upload page/bookmarklet will fix it anyway.

Plus you can always request to delete your Pixiv account anyway. A number of artists do that already (which is why they're fully bad id'd).

Going from a quick glance, there's still a lot of popular work that isn't upped yet, so there's always work to do. Take a look at my uploads sometime (some have 1k+ bk's on pixiv but weren't uploaded until days after their submission).

Not that I disagree with anything, but I just want to add that there is another reason why good posts (in general, I'm not referring to posts you were commenting on) are sometimes deleted after 3 days - bad luck. This was even mentioned by an approver in this topic at some point.

For example post #2753419 was mentioned at the previous page here. I'm pretty confident that it deserves to be approved, but it wasn't.

And since I'm already posting here, is there any particular reason why these posts were not approved:
One of them is even a higher quality version of another accepted post and has 5000 bookmarks at pixiv.

post #2552535: It’s censored while the already approved post is not.

post #2708601: Maybe the derpy faces, especially the spider girl’s, and off-looking hands and arms. Spider body could’ve used some more details and better contrast if it’s supposed to be the main feature.

post #2747437: Sorry, no comment. I have some tags on that blacklisted.

Edit: Missed this user.

Bland and boring with no background to speak of. They look pretty amateurish. The second one also has weird shading that’s rather simple in some areas and then that super detailed neck.

Perhaps, that's also a factor. Having the right approver around at the right time helps, albeit with Qpax around it really shouldn't be that bad (it's still much healthier than it was months ago).

post #2753419 -- Think I mentioned why I rejected this but it still looks off to me
post #2552535 -- It's worse, actually: http://i.imgur.com/uygHphZ.png (using DiffChecker). Nothing changes aside from censoring.
post #2708601 -- Anatomy is off... in multiple places
post #2747437 -- Pretty short arms, unappetizing face, composition seems flat in general

EDIT: kittey fast to respond as usual.
