I remember watching the early eps of the Barakamon anime and being surprised when little Hina spoke.

I can't recall why but I somehow assumed that she was going to be a silent character with the exception of her bawling her eyes out now then.

He started out as a manifestation of pure evil, but it’s been long since shown that his evil is matched by ambition. In TotK (plotholes aside), he even states a desire to be a king. I believe, if the series is going to continue using him and mixing up the formula, he’s long overdue for some major character development. Having spent centuries drifting away from the curse’s original intent, his motivation could go from evil “irredeemable bastard” to an insatiable desire for power in interest of being a more effective ruler
