Yeah, I think more than anything it's just super jarring since the artist doesn't seem to have had any obvious/glaring hand issues before so it definitely sticks out.

Maybe AI of his own works to make a new one but didn't double check the hands after writing the text...

I also think it is at least partially AI-generated. It has the resolution and line-quality I've come to associate with stable diffusion. Further, there's a bizarre lack of uniformity in the Japanese lettering. I don't know the profile of the alleged artist, but think someone who writes Japanese would not have so much variance in the direction of their strokes imo. Though, a native Japanese would know better than I.

The hand, too, is odd.

Yeah it doesn't feel "fully AI" to me either, but god damn that hand.

This isn't ai this is simply an artist fuck up. Seriously guys you can't just flag for AI after seeing an artist mess up a hand because AI mistakes aren't limited to just wonky hands.

I agree, the style seems to be in line with the artist’s progression from earlier works. To me really the only issue with the hand is a long thumb, after all this is clearly not a hyper realism style.

Literally the most "out of pocket" collab imagineable. Not complaining though.
