After reading some of Tsuruse's tweets from March, I would not expect any new updates for this story for a while. He's now mainly working on his new project for the time being, claiming it will be more focused and thematically consistent than Sakura no Sekai (which started as a lighthearted slice-of-life yuri series, believe it or not).

The pool's fully translated now at least, so if you want to binge or catch up, now's your chance.

I don't think the spirit has a name (it just seems to be something that Cheryl summons) but I've never played the game.

Yes. Takopii is especially recognizable. Looking up images of the franchise you think they're from is usually a good way to confirm they actually are from that series. I've identified many different characters this way from series I've never watched or even heard of.

If you're resonably confident but still want a second opinion, you can also tag the characters while also adding the check character tag.
