I can think of the idiom "not the brightest bulb in the box". Don't think it's a good enough pun to justify its long-windedness here, but maybe someone will find it useful in the future.

well, there is a pretty big timeframe there, their first one was when they were 23, second one was when they were 26, then the triplets were when they were 31
