That's not entirely true. Talking about the non-meta parts is fine, too. The comments just have to be more substantial than a single emoji or a generic "I like this" statement (and yes, you can find exceptions to this if you look hard enough; this is just a generalization).

Another reason for the downvotes could be because the user also posted the same emoji twice on other posts about five minutes before this one, which could be seen as spamming.

No way Strawberry panic is 20 years old. I still remember watching it on my laptop on the deck of an ferry to Finland and just as I got to the scene where Shizuma pushes Aoi down on the bed some random kid pops up behind me asking what I'm doing. Had to do a really quick alt-tab to a Excel spread sheet.

That was just a few years ago in 2006
