Or yanno

People just wanna look at horse tits without some weirdo homophobe making it a very sad and strange hill to die on.

Not homophobic, just oblivious or desensitized to all the casual breast-grabbing you see in anime. It's pretty clear though that Jungle Pocket is straight-up ogling those breasts (it's even more obvious in the color version), so it would be hard not to call it yuri.

We've gotten to the point where people think 'yuritard' is just a normal thing to say that doesn't belie any sort of homophobia

I never said that term was normal and I don't condone using it. But I looked through the user's comments and none of them sounded like they have a problem with yuri. The term is clearly being used to refer to people they perceive as being so obsessed with yuri that they'll attack anyone that makes any argument against it being so. I'm not saying the downvoters are actually like that. I'm sure the downvotes were just a normal response to a dumb take.

If you want to see actual homophobes, look for the people claiming shipping non-canon female characters is "indoctrination" or being paranoid about hetero couples being "erased." We've had instances of both here. Something like this isn't even comparable.

I mean I'm just calling it as I see it, and a dude bending over backwards to pull the 'history says they'll be good friends' crap and then defending it with the phrase "Yuritard" doesn't exactly strike me as someone accepting of alternate lifestyles, yanno?

You're damn correct at that. I mean, I'm sorry for using yuritards but really, I was just asking why I was just getting downvoted. But yeah, I don't mind yuri but I don't like it when people do think some artwork is yuri where it clearly isnt.

How the fuck did them Japanese hit 3 Trillion and a half while we barely hit 600 Billion

From what I've heard, the original JP event took place over a weekend and was also during the height of COVID lockdowns, so there was plenty of time for players to grind out the fancount. JP Cygames fans are no strangers to intense grind, see GBF, so that probably helped.

In contrast, the global event started around 7:00pm PST on a Monday. It would have been near noon in SEA, night in most of the U.S., and dead of night in Europe. Had this started on a Friday night, we would have had a better chance of hitting 2 trillion fans.
