hormone replacement therapy

A form of hormone therapy that uses sex hormones and other hormonal medications for gender transitioning. Includes masculinizing hormone therapy (utilizing androgens, e.g. testosterone) and feminizing hormone therapy (utilizing estrogens).

It is usually administered by transgender individuals, but not exclusively. Femboys may also occasionally engage in hormone therapy in order to develop breasts while still retaining a male gender identity.
