How do I tag this?

That doesn't sound that intuitive to be honest.
But eh well, the topless wiki does only mention the special case of the mermaid. So to make this clear, it should edited...?

Maybe there should be a clarifying discussion on this. IMO topless does not make sense without a bottom being worn (which is part of why mermaid is considered differently) just as bottomless does not make sense without a top being worn.

Can an image qualify both for style_parody and for official_style?
post #2706899 is in the style of the original Hokuto no Ken anime and contains references to both the original series and another series.

I consider them to be mutually exclusive, with official style being a character drawn in the official style of their own copyright, not the style of another copyright.

No, it should be nude + upper body. The important thing with topless is that there has to be a bottom visible.

That's exactly how I've been using it all this time and I agree with everything you said. On a related note, I've seen a lot of posts tagged with both bottomless and no panties which if I remember correctly are mutually exclusive.

Just taking a look at the first few posts out of curiosity, something like post #2707477 could cause some confusion. Wearing a shirt and no bottom wear, so technically it should be bottomless. But the shirt is long enough that it seems it would completely cover her crotch if buttoned up (the visual looks similar enough to character wearing a short dress of that length where it would count as no panties instead).

While I can understand how that could cause some confusion, posts should really only be tagged with one or the other (except in cases with multiple people of course). Pictures with naked shirts usually have them long enough to cover the crotch but technically should be bottomless so it could be tricky.
