spot color

A mostly-monochrome, muted and/or dark picture, with a few colors employed to 'pop out' and draw the viewer's attention.

Not to be confused with a partially colored image. In particular, unfinished pictures which the artist fully colors later should usually be tagged partially colored, not spot color.

A post tagged spot color can be also be tagged with monochrome.
