BUR #58624 has been approved by @nonamethanks.

create alias type_11_light_machine_gun -> type_11_lmg
create alias type_96_light_machine_gun -> type_96_lmg
remove implication type_99_light_machine_gun -> machine_gun
create implication type_99_light_machine_gun -> light_machine_gun
create alias type_99_light_machine_gun -> type_99_lmg

Sequel to topic #27661.

  • For consistency with Bren LMG and reducing length (perhaps). Feel free to suggest the opposite way.
  • Fixing Type 99's implication hierarchy.

BUR #58625 has been rejected.

rename type_97_lmg -> type_97_machine_gun
create alias type_88_lmg -> qjy-88

A.) Wikipedia states that it is a WWII Japanese medium machine gun for vehicle-mounted purpose, chambered in full-power 7.7*58mm Arisaka round. It is a modified, longer and heavier version of the Czechoslovak ZB-26.

B.) Removing ambiguity instead of using the generic Type_* nomenclature used by East Asian militaries
