To having the tag, yes. Many character designs are different, with the ones most relevant to danbooru being Frightwig and Charmcaster, who we have art of from both continuities. To having the tag name changed? I guess that's more debatable, but the most clear reason would be that we now have another reboot which is probably going to get more fanart once it releases in a few months.

I mean for renaming Ben 10, or creating a tag for the 2005 version. Wouldn't that be nearly every single post? Though looking into it, there's a lot of smaller subtags, so I guess it's fine.

Let's just put this to a vote actually. Species tags for Ben 10 aliens that are chartags instead of gentags. There are others I'm not including (namely mutant frogs and pickaxe aliens) because they don't have any named members of their species. Neither do the Lucubra or DNAliens either I guess but those feel different?

My understanding of this franchise was that he turns into a big named alien, and that's what the tag is for. Are the aliens like pokemon where they arr rook same, or are they more like chocobo where there's many different kinds and shapes like a real species?

These are all species, not the named aliens he transforms into, and the aliens in the series are more like chocobo I guess (doesn't know chocobo but does know pokemon). Buzzshock is a Nosedeenian, Reinrassig III is a Highbreed, DNAliens are when humans get infected by alien xenocites, and lucubra are vaguely lovecraftian critters. List of Ben 10 characters has a section for the species we currently tagged, which I made wiki pages for recently pointing to named characters within said species.
