Pokemon Winds and Waves copyright tag

Posted under Tags

The next generation of Pokemon games Pokemon Winds and Waves were just revealed and I just wanted to check on how the copyright tag should be structured before creating a new one. I know all the other copyright tags for the games combine the two like Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is Pokemon_sv but in the case where like with Sword and Shield where both games start with the same letter it was Pokemon_swsh using the first two letters of the game titles.

In this case Winds and Waves both start with a w so I think it should follow the example of Sword and Shield and probably be pokemon_wiwa or Pokemon_wawi or should it just be pokemon_ww?

I'm wondering what other people think before creating the actual tag to make sure it is correct.

I think pokemon_ww would be fine, I like it even.
Tbh I always assumed the reason for swsh was just that we didn't want to have a pokemon_ss tag for... reasons.

Edit: Or I guess because it would be ambiguous with SS = SoulSilver

BUR #55351 has been rejected.

create alias pokemon_ww -> pokemon_winds_and_waves

Now, this might be a controversial thing to suggest, but I think we should be using the full game name as the main tag name instead of the shortened version. I'm not sure how it became the norm to use an abbreviated name as the main tag name for mainline Pokemon games and their related copyrights, but it's not something we really do with other copyrights unless the full name would be really long, and this is not the case here.
Try searching for Pokemon SWSH in Google for instance and you'll see that it appears as "Pokemon Sword and Shield" in just about every search result, same goes for other Pokemon games. I understand that it's often referred to as Pokemon SWSH by fans in discussions and such, but this is what we have utility aliases for, which are still going to redirect people to the right tag when they type pokemon_swsh, and to an outsider it might not be immediately clear what these shortened names refer to, which doesn't seem ideal for a copyright tag name. (In this case the game just got announced too so you can't say that Pokemon WW is the fanbase's go-to short name yet either since it sort of got picked on the spot)

Open a new topic for this, don't just dump it here for a single game. if we do it for this game we have to do it for all of them.
