I question the value of the workout clothes tag. What should fall under it is so broad that it'd end being a massive dumping ground tag of many various pieces of sports attire, like I'm sure something like half of all sports bra posts would qualify for the tag.

Maybe, but given the workout clothes currently mistagged under gym uniform, I think it's at least worth giving it a shot and seeing how the tag turns out after we clarify gym uniform into either PE uniform or school gym uniform. If it continues to be incredibly broad, we can decide its fate on a later date, and you can cite me on that.
Workout clothes at least gives a place to put all the sports bra+yoga pants posts that are currently tagged sportswear instead. Workout clothes should be for athleisure or gymwear while sportswear should be for actual sports.

"fitness gym" feels a bit unwieldy, people just call them "gym" usually. I don't have any better ideas though.

Well, with school gym and fitness gym as the chosen names, and gym already getting gardened out of existence, we may as well do this.

That just leaves gym uniform's and workout clothes's final names to be decided, since that then allows us to change gym teacher, gym shirt and gym shorts (assuming we don't give them the gym pants treatment), and gym storeroom.
The individual school gym uniforms tagged, U.A. gym uniform, Tokiwadai School gym uniform, A Certain High School gym uniform, Hasu no Sora gym uniform, and Night Raven College gym uniform needed to be looked at for reasons unrelated to all this, meanwhile - U.A. and Hasu no Sora drop their "High School" names, which the other tags don't do (or equivalent, in Night Raven's case), so that has to be decided.
