Implying RVB to Halo

create implication red_vs._blue -> halo_(series)

This one's a bit up in the air but given it is a Halo fan series loosley set in the Halo Universe it should probably be implied.

Completely different plot line, completely different story line. The only thing it shares is the assets.

Please stop making trash BURs and actually use some brain cells to consider if these things really need to be connected in that way before making us vote on it. You've been warned about this several times, on both your previous accounts too, including the last one you've tried to connect two titles that have nothing to do with each other less than a week ago. (forum #401382)

finally something my autism is good for

(talking in past tense, because theyre not making any rvb anymore and theres been a hilarious lack of new halo games)

personally im okay with this becayse rvb is basically an unofficial spin-off in the eyes of microsoft. they have permission to use their assets and even got the halo games early with the condition that they have some sort of oversight from microsoft. microsoft uses rvb as free advertisement and references rvb in halo. its a symbiotic relationship in a way thats different from the gmod -> hl2 BUR.

besides it wouldnt be the first time we imply fan content to the main tag, e.g. kemono friends r

Touhou also implies fan works to the main copyright which is one of, if not the longest standing precedent for doing it.

I know there's a bit of negative aura around some of the BURs Space Force Detective submits but this is one of the ones that has legitimate precedent to back it. It's not an overtly trash BUR, it just may not happen if we want to keep them separate, even though in my mind I don't feel there's a need to. It doesn't share a continuity with the official games, but it is still deeply Halo.

Still seething I see, While I can accept it not implying its parent game Gmod is a sand box of HL2 assets so saying its got “nothing to do” with HL2 is flatly wrong, most of the signature Gmod things are tied to HL2 (IE the crowbar, the phys gun is just a super charged gravity gun model etc), anyway not relevant here, Anyway in this case it’s a fanwork which in general now are implied (such as for Fate), starting with Touhou as other comments have stated.

can we please keep this on topic and not bring up drama from other threads, you two. thanks.

This one's a bit up in the air but given it is a Halo fan series loosley set in the Halo Universe it should probably be implied.

Red vs Blue is a independent web series created by RoosterTeeth and is loosely based around Halo, that said, it's still an entirely separate series that was independently funded but also sponsored by Halo themselves, has had several cross-gags related to each other, and has made staple additions to Halo as a series, like Griffball.

This is the difference between something like tagging a game studio and a game different, which happens with FromSoftware. If something is art of "Red_vs._Blue", it should be tagged as such. But also tagged with "Halo_(Series)". If something is explicitly, "Red_vs._Blue", the distinction should be made apparent. Everything Red vs. Blue is Halo, but not everything Halo is Red vs. Blue.

For Example: You would tag "Agent_Carolina" with "Red_vs._Blue" and "Halo_(Series)", but you wouldn't tag "Master_Chief" with "Red_vs._Blue" and "Halo_(Series)".

OFC, hence implying it to Halo, all of its art would have the Halo tag but not the inverse.

mbmb. Thought you were implying that Red vs. Blue would just be Halo by itself without the RvB tag.

That's called an alias, implication means that adding the RVB tag will auto add the Halo tag above it.
