Bitch, are we fucking deadass? I'm Filipino, (despite the Russian name and one forum post,) and while we can laugh at the occasional racist joke, it has to land to be good. And if all good racist jokes land, then this is a fucking plane crash.

What's this talk about jokes? Isn't it just an observation? And it's hardly racist against Filipinos in particular, seeing as white men are also the butt of the "joke"; only being married by women like these for a ticket into their country (before probably getting divorced), and that seems like a pattern across a lot of different races and nationalities.

I know the pattern well, don't get me wrong. The women there are forced to because of their economic circumstances.
Either way, the joke is still ass; it could've been executed without looking and sounding like shit. The caricature is what makes it racist.

I'm not sure I should care. Maybe Philippinos aren't the kind of people constantly bitching about istaphobismuses, maybe we could be nice and polite to each other, but the racism complaint has generally been thoroughly worn out. Last I saw, even Asians rated whites as a group lowest by a significant margin, just like everyone else except whites (Source: American National Election Studies, 2021, how racial groups rate each other).

Eh, it is a choice, but a choice made by necessity. Due to the financial constraints of the country, with an average income of about $324 (USD), they are forced to go other places. Some go to the Middle East, where they work for people there under the kafala system. Now, that sucks, because the Middle East is known for being quite shitty when it comes to work conditions there. A Filipino woman was found in a freezer in an abandoned warehouse in Kuwait, murdered. This sparked a diplomatic crisis between the two nations.

Marriage to other people sounds a lot better. Now, is it optional? Yeah. You can also just work in America or Europe instead, as a nurse or something like that, so you are not wrong in that it is a choice. However, the choice in itself was forced due to the economic circumstances they exist in, and it is not a choice that is made just because they feel like making it.

There is a difference between Filipinos who were raised in the Philippines, and those who were raised in America. The former... frankly, doesn't give a shit. At least in my family, which isn't representative of the Philippines as a whole, but seeing other Filipinos there, it's also somewhat similar. The latter group, does. The racism complaint is definitely worn out, at least in my view. It just seems, at least borderline racist to depict Filipino women who marry foreigners like that, at least borderline would be reasonable.

Also, the joke just fucking sucks. One that I personally like better are the nurse jokes or some shit like that.

For example:
A tourist walks into a Filipino street food stand. He orders a hot dog.
"I loved this hot dog!" he says to the owner. "What are the ingredients, so I could cook it at home?"
"Well," the owner said, "It's right in the name, bitch."
(I feel like this example still sucks...)

Even if the work itself is not racist, which to some that is highly debatable, it's still ass. Good night.
