It's Chiaki's hairclip! In-universe, its from "Gala Omega", which is meant to imitate Galaga, but the ship's design itself is original
That's just phase 1. Phase 2: paw to the face (varies from "gentle tap" to "furious slap"). If that didn't help, move to Phase 3: bite body parts that aren't covered with blanket (usually face and hands). Like, "human, my bowl is empty, so I'm gonna eat your face instead". Some cats starts from phase 3 outright (mine is one of them, unfortunately).
