Lmao, it isn't like the commander needs her, he has countless better women. So she can pick the useless guy that is basically canon fodder in the grand scheme of things, over the commander who is basically single handedly advancing their society.

Nikke NTR is such a stupid concept, pick the useless guy over the main character? The NTR girls are retarded when you think about it like that.

Trading the clearly Superman for some no name is a bold bet let's see if it pays off for her.

I have to point out that the reason why touhou got popular is becsue of three very big things. Number one, the games are fun. Number two, Zun dosen't piss everyone off with copyright laws, and DRM, becsue he knows how busted, and archaic they are. He purposely left the project open ended, to let the creativity of the series flourish amongst the fans, and not leave it to the whims of big corporations to water it down, until it's no more than an empty, meaningless short-sided cash grab. Finally, the last factor, the project got lucky bacuse of the whole "moe" boom of the 2000's, thanks to the likes of lucky star, and haruhi, and full blown access to the internet to international audiences. Kantai collection will no doubt be huge, but it does not have the staying power of Touhou in the long run. Touhou has more creative forces behind it, and have many mroe stories to come. Plus, it's not owned by gaming comapnies, Kantai Collection is owned by Kodakawa games, and it will be marketed to death, until it gets left behind by the company in order to pursue a new caash cow. I'm not bashing the fans of Kantai Collection, but let's be real, which series do you think is going to be around 10 years from now?

Now, on the topic of real-life women, all i got to say is that they are human beings. They are human beings with desires, and wants, and urges, just like men do. to completely write them off, is to completely write off your self. in order to appeal to real life women you got to understand them as human beings. No matter what, Atago is not going to greet you when you come home(or when she comes home, if she's was a working human), Cirno is not going to give you a hug(although why would you want a hug with an ice fairy), and no 2d female character is not going to give you the companionship of a real female.

Very well said, D

========================================
also, I'm glad that Touhou doesn't have any "Official" anime series because ZUN knows very well what will happen if it does.
I mean, look at Neptunia franchise, many fans hyped for the anime before airing, but after that? that anime series leads to their "downfall"

To think that Kancolle anime will airing in this year...
Either Kadokawa is very optimistic or seeking for more profit, I don't know,
but I hope Kancolle survives after the anime series ended

I'm not going to comment much on the Touhou games themselves because honestly I hardly saw any praises on any elements of the game themselves outside of the music despite Touhou having such a gargantuan fanbase that it has(bullet hell isn't actually hard to program so it's mechanics is nothing impressive and the graphics is nothing special either). But so far as I've met many people who are "Touhou fans" that I knew are "fans" of the "characters", not the "games". It's like someone who might likes Miku, listens to her music, draws a thousand fanarts of her but doesn't own the Vocaloid software and has no intention of ever buying one.

And I'm not writing off 3D women either, I'm saying something that is occurring for real in Japan currently. Japanese women are growing higher standards, everyone wants a boyfriend who is both handsome and rich and will not compromise for anything less, while at the same time more men are diving more and more into 2D women, which may or may not be because of some other causes as well but the attitudes of 3D women they meet in real life may be a contributing factor to many.

As I said in my 1st post, the attitudes of 3D woman is only one of the many possible factors that may drive men into wanting 2D characters who exists in a vacuum and can effectively be "manipulated" as much as one's contents within his own's "headcanon". That is also why I mention harem animes, which currently flourish despite having very, very, very cliched and repititive plots, because it's a man's escapist fantasy that ignores any resemblance to the 3D world.

It's a self-serving, wish fulfilment form of entertainment in a vacuum, harem and moe for the men, and yaoi for the women. All these genres, allows its audiences freedom in fulfilling his/her own fantasies to their hearts' contempt without the restraints. And Touhou and KanColle, as the thin-canon character-driven franchises, are able take this principle up to eleven and thrives under it far over all the other games in their respective genres.

I don't consider myself a fan of Touhou, KanColle, harem genre, homo genre, or even anime character shipping in general, I am not trying to subvert here that any franchise is inferior to another, but I am talking about this matter from a third person point of view.

Reading all these comments, some of them are hilarious in hindsight, because KC is currently the second largest force in danbooru right behind Touhou.

Right and now Blue Archive is on the horizon and will eventually take Kancolle's second place, though unlike the previous fandom conflict KC fans are more accepting to this fact and pretty accommodating towards BA probably because they were once also the challenger.
