That makes no sense if there was something off about the translation gaku would have fixed it years ago. The work was translated accurately and noone in the years since it was translated ever complained about the quality of the translation.
Since this comment has resurfaced and was never argued against, I'll just going to mention that this is not a good argument for not uploading the post in its original language. Perfect translations are rare and it's always best to have the original dialogue on hand for comparison. And even if the translation can't be improved, there could still be some nuance left out that couldn't be translated, which would be lost completely without the original.
Of course, I'm cutting this user some major slack since it was five years ago and they likely know better now.
From what I've heard, the original JP event took place over a weekend and was also during the height of COVID lockdowns, so there was plenty of time for players to grind out the fancount. JP Cygames fans are no strangers to intense grind, see GBF, so that probably helped.
In contrast, the global event started around 7:00pm PST on a Monday. It would have been near noon in SEA, night in most of the U.S., and dead of night in Europe. Had this started on a Friday night, we would have had a better chance of hitting 2 trillion fans.
This is sourced from July 2006 at the latest, and from the web link listed here, you can see something of an interesting lineage. Link rot is a bitch though so a lot of things have been lost because of an entrance page. https://web.archive.org/web/20040626075919/http://yaneura.client.jp/ Not sure whether the artist is named "Yaneura Kuuzokudan" on account of the website, or if they are some "Ryokura." Our existing Yaneuras are not sourced from a similar era, and nor do they have a similar style.
i like how Dober and Journey are trying to box out each other for a rebound even though it's a dunk that is very much going into through the hoop lol...she ain't giving up she got hustle...
The first non-official art of her on this site since she was revealed sixteen years ago.
Yeah, trying to upload one of each MGE girl and you can really tell who's the most popular based on post count. Sad to see some are basically just the official pages.
How the fuck did them Japanese hit 3 Trillion and a half while we barely hit 600 Billion
