Mascot character of Virtua Fighter.
Akira fights with Hakkyuko-ken, a Japanese derivative of the Chinese martial art Bajiquan.
His rival is Kage-Maru.

In contrast to his serious nature in the video games, he's often portrayed with a goofy side in the anime, but he can get dangerous if he's pushed hard enough. As a part of his adaptational goofy nature, he loves to eat big meals.
