stake

A large wooden or metal implement designed to be driven into the ground.

A stake can range in size from a large nail to an enormous log. Its main distinguishing feature is its conical shape. It can be used as a weapon (for example, an anti-vampire weapon), a means of attaching to an object (usually the ground), part of a character's design, or as part of a fence.
