sig mg338
A belt-fed machine gun manufactured by SIG Sauer, chambered for .338 Norma Magnum cartridge. It was intended to bridge the firepower gap between the 7.62x51mm NATO machine gun and the heavier Browning M2. The SIG Sauer MG 338 features a quick-change barrel, an AR-15-style adjustable folding stock, and usually seen with a
proprietary suppressor.
See the M250 for the U.S. military designation for the SIG LMG 6.8, an offshoot of the MG 338, which SIG was also developing for SOCOM.
