riot police
Heavily armored police officers who are called during situations that would present a high risk of danger to the standard police force, such as mobs, riots, and other large scale, or potentially highly dangerous small scale events or operations. Often they are called to provide containment or potentially pacify violence.
Commonly depicted with black armor, transparent riot shields, and visored helmets. They also utilize tear gas to disperse the crowd.
