palanquin ship

聖輦船

An airship from Touhou.

The Palanquin Ship was created by Hijiri Byakuren long before the events of Undefined Fantastic Object. It is a recreation of the ship Murasa Minamitsu once fell overboard from and drowned, allowing her to be saved by Byakuren. The crew is headed by Captain Murasa, other members including Kumoi Ichirin, Nazrin, and Toramaru Shou. An airship, it is able to sail through the sky, and even cross into other realms of existence, such as Makai.

Although both Hakurei Reimu and Kirisame Marisa call it a "Flying Treasure Ship", once on board, they find the ship is empty. It eventually settled in Gensokyo near the Human Village and was temporarily a granary, before being converted into a Buddhist temple named Myouren-ji (命蓮寺), or Myouren Temple, after Byakuren's brother.

The ship is drawn from the story of the Flying Storage, or Soaring Vault (飛倉), from the Shigisan-engi.
