hysterectomy
Hysterectomy is the surgical removal of the uterus and cervix. After a hysterectomy, menstruation and pregnancy are ceased. Oophorectomy (removal of ovaries) and salpingectomy (removal of fallopian tubes) may be surgically performed as well. It is a form of permanent sterilization.
If a woman were to retain her ovaries, she could still have biological children by donating her eggs.
