A Kong introduced in Donkey Kong Country, and a frequent participant in Mario spinoffs since Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour.
Nimble and acrobatic, he is Donkey Kong's little buddy and most reliable adventuring friend of the Kong Family. Dixie Kong is his girlfriend.
Recognizable by his trademark red baseball cap that's usually printed with the Nintendo logo and his red sleeveless shirt that has two yellow stars printed on them.
Diddy Kong was originally conceptualized as a redesign for Donkey Kong Jr., but was instead told by Nintendo for him to be made into a new character. Super Smash Bros. (N64) and Donkey Kong 64 began to position him as being Donkey Kong's nephew, an element still supported by Diddy Kong's original designer Kevin Bayliss [1], but modern official bios disregard this entirely.
