Michael Wittmann (22 April 1914 – 8 August 1944), also known as The Black Baron, was a notorious and infamous German Waffen-SStank commander and Tiger I ace from World War II with 139 confirmed kills.
He died in France during the 1944 Invasion of Normandy when his tank was ambushed, hit and destroyed by a combined Allied armored force.
