A character from Genshin Impact. He was a dragon created by the alchemist Rhinedottir and she classified him as "Humus". She considered him as one of her masterpieces along with Albedo.
Around 500 years ago, Durin invaded Mondstadt during the Cataclysm and caused massive devastation. With no one capable of defending the nation, Barbatos was awoken to the pleas of his people and fought against him together with Dvalin. Durin was eventually slain and sent plummeting to the mountain of Vindagnyr in the area now known as Wyrmrest Valley. Afterwards, the mountain became known as Dragonspine.
Durin's corpse spread his life energy throughout the valley and caused the formation of Crimson Agate and Scarlet Quartz, while also reviving the Frostbearing Tree. His blood was very toxic and contained power from the Abyss, which was one of the catalysts that led to Dvalin becoming "Stormterror". Durin's heart was still active beneath Wyrmrest Valley until it was drained of its energy by Albedo and used in the ritual to turn Mini Durin into a human.
He is often depicted in canon as a black skeletal dragon with glowing red eyes.
Not to be confused with Mini Durin, an alternate counterpart created by the Hexenzirkel witch Andersdotter or Durin, his human form granted by Albedo.
He is named after the dwarf Durinn from Norse Mythology.
