There seems to be 4 main gothic-related tags currently being used:
- gothic lolita - Refers to the fashion movement and style
to the wiki
- gothic architecture - Refers to the architectural movement & derivatives
- gothic princess - Refers to an idolmaster outfit
- gothic - Ambiguous; refers to the clothing style, according to the wiki entry
Gothic_lolita seems to be self-explanatory in terms of usage
Gothic_architecture as well, though it seems rarely used
Not too sure about Gothic_princess, but it seems to be an established tag (15 uses)
The main one to point out is gothic
According to the wiki, it's only to be used for clothing (possibly including gothic-lolita as well, depending on how you interpret it)
That's fine, since examples of that style exist:

But what about other gothic elements? Do we use the gothic that for those as well?
Things like
Atmosphere (ambiguous)
Physical Setting (much more common; overlaps with gothic architecture)
Characters, clothing-style & objects (also common)
Or a mix of the above

Short Version
There's a definite occurrence of gothic-themed material on danbooru, but some requires more searching due to the lack of tagging on them
So, before I consider adding the gothic tag to them, does anyone have a better idea or alternative solution?
