Loli/shota check thread.

There's a silent debate going on regarding many "loli" arts by m-da s-tarou, who draws traditionally "loli" characters like leonardo da vinci (rider) (fate), jack the ripper (fate/apocrypha), illyasviel von einzbern, miyu edelfelt with much more mature figures such that they seem petite. For now, they seem to be tagged based more on lore-wise mental age, but what do you think?

Examples tagged loli but probably wouldn't be if they were original characters:

Some like post #3760479 (currently tagged petite) do look more loli though.

hi. for some reason, someone likes to put tag "loli" on art where it's not necessary. for example, these three posts - Shion is not a child, but tag as loli
post #5963040

can someone correct tags on these and other posts with arts by this author?

Yeah, these are not loli by our standards.

Thank you. Too bad there's no way to report on some users for tag changes (and the changes themselves). At the very least, when one post like post #5963044 gets one tag removed and added several times, it's weird. And it's still (again) there, lol

post #5976168 - dudes who mark adult flat as loli, you deserve disrespect.

These are borderline cases. It's not unreasonable for someone to call these loli (and it's not unreasonable to disagree with them). This isn't mistagging, it's disagreeing over a borderline case. But for the record, the character's canonical age doesn't matter, the "she's a 9000 year old shark from Atlantis" argument doesn't fly here.

These are more clearly not loli, they have pronounced breasts.

As it says on the wiki of this tag, lolies are kind of "about 3-12 year olds". They don't look like loli on the listed arts, more like teens 16+. Going back to the wiki, there are examples there with the "adolescent" tag, and the characters from the posts I listed look considerably more mature. So it's not even borderline, if we compare?
Also, I agree that just canonical age is not an argument. But also it's their canonical look in which she's just short and flat, but still doesn't look like a 12y.o.. We have to be more lenient with these criteria, you just don't have any other way to draw Gura/Shion (yeah, actually you can draw them tall and with big breasts, but...).
All this is not about me being against anyone caring about norms/rules to put that tag on. It's just a shame that in the end hidden some good arts that didn't deserve this tag and to be hidden. And many people rush to put this tag and few are interested in checking and removing (each user can add a tag, but not remove it. And those who can remove it are not very interested in this cause they can see the art). omg, how much I wrote. A cry from the depths of my heart
