Wouldn't it be better for it to imply the specific game it's based on?

Maybe? I only used the main copytag cuz Sonic.EXE isn't implied to say Sonic The Hedgehog 3 for example

The bulk update request #61138 (forum #445339) has been rejected by @TheGamingRodent.
It's a little confusing to treat this is a subtag of Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal when it's not a real game.
