You're putting far too much faith in our users' english proficiency. A sizable portion of our traffic (and of our most prolific uploaders) is from non-english-speaking countries, so a nuanced rename like this that relies on the reader being able to tell the difference between an uncommon noun (on the internet, anyway) and a far more widely used adjective would be completely hopeless.
Hell, even I, despite a decade of arguing in english on these forums, immediately mistook "tan skin" to mean "a skin that has a tan", instead of "a skin tan in color".

"tan skin" is just gonna be a repeat of platinum blonde hair.
