The entirety of this thread is so disingenous at this point. The fact that this is labeled like it's a "temporary outage," it's been 3 years with 0 concrete information from the site owner. If evazion doesn't want to bring back the feature, then just say it. Say literally anything. This site is his baby, why does he give no fucks about the ppl who use it? Would you not feel some sense of obligation to keep your user base informed? Evidently not. I would honestly care less if this wasn't left as some cold case that never got solved. This is the equivalent of leaving a user issue ticket open for 3 years with no resolution and no explanation.
Had I had the benefit of hindsight, I should have just paid when I was a broke college student. This thread is comprised of blue users who are (more than understandably) confused and irritated, and purple or above users saying "it's not that bad bro, just make this your part time job for months with no guaranteeing it's ever gonna pay off" "backread the thread no crypto" when evazion has never officially said no crypto. The fact that grinding is the only semi reliable way to get past this, has made "contributing" extremely competitive.
Truthfully, I am more annoyed by how this has been handled (aka not handling it at all) than the actual issue itself. It's not worth the heartache of holding out hope that somehow this will change. I would love for this not to be the case, to not have to air my frustrations in some tired, cobweb-encrusted thread. Yet here we are. I simply LOVE having the "X posts on this page require a Gold Account to view" thrown in my face, effectively a middle finger to those of us who haven't "earned" the the right to sit at the cool kid table. The "right" to view a fucking drawing lmao, such a privilege!

I work full time, albeit at a very autonomous white collar job that lets me do other things in my downtime at home.
Besides that, you can upload 3-4 images and tag them in under 10 min.
If you do that once a day for a year, you would probably get purple if your ratio is good.
I waste far more time scrolling tiktok than I do on here, I assume most people do. Can just allocate some of that here.
At least personally, I browse Danbooru to avoid having to go through Twitter, Pixiv and whatever else. Grinding out purple would defeat the purpose.

"Competitive" is only true if you're trying to up the most popular of popular artists. There's plenty of demand for almost every aspect of the site: translations, tag editing, wiki creating/editing. (See also howto:contribute)
Hell, you don't even need to scour much for art if you check the upload bounty thread. Just tag it appropriately.

Well as has been stated, you don't need contributor.
If you browse Danbooru often, just add tags to images during your scroll through. You can get builder role.

Yeah, uploading isn't necessary to become Builder (although it certainly does help). Contributor is only useful if you intend to upload stuff. If you're just browsing, Builder is all you need to max out your searching privileges.
If you need something relatively mindless but still useful to contribute—if my memory serves correctly source:*deviantart* commentary_request has a lot of false results that should be commentary + english commentary instead (especially if you get into the older results). You can also take a look at commentary -has:commentary and commentary_request -has:commentary for posts that are incorrectly tagged as having commentary when they do not, meaning either the tags should be removed or the commentary should be added. No uploading required!
If you want something that requires slightly more critical thinking, check out copytags:0 chartags:1.. for posts that need a copyright but have at least one character already tagged for you. Depending on the chartag this can be an easy fix or a hard one.
I can probably brainstorm more blue-level maintenance searches throughout the day. Maybe I'll slap them in a thread, if anyone would actually care about that. ETA: topic #33823

Determining proper replacements could take some thinking, but clearing out deprecated tags would also probably be useful, both for the site and for possible promotion. There are a lot of them.

Make sure you are extremely careful with these, though. Once you remove a deprecated tag, you can't add it back. If you can't figure out what to replace it with on a post, consider leaving it for someone else to take care of.

There are also tags that don’t require any special knowledge - for example, hair color. We have three deprecated tags: platinum blonde hair, dark blue hair, light blue hair.

The issue with those, along with the other intermediate color tags, is that it can sometimes be hard to decide which color is most appropriate to replace it with. For example, some dark blue hair posts may be closer to black hair than blue hair.
I just wanted a gold account to get everything back to normal. Even on Pixiv, even though I paid for it, it was completely censored. Here, it's still going strong, but unfortunately, the gold account and others are never activated. It takes too long to get it slowly, and the most complicated thing is the silence of the creator himself. so it's not just a matter of sitting and waiting for a solution. I even heard about gold account giveaways and other things, but I never found any. It's already difficult for me to get dollars because it's not my local currency, and when I do have something, I see that the site is still the same, with gold blocked. Have a good day, everyone.
