I don't understand why it's such a big deal to the people who keep posting in this thread. Danbooru is an archive, but Gelbooru and other websites host the same art without the restrictions on content or tag usage. You don't need Gold. You have four uploads and joined 5 months ago. If you want to use Gold features you can contribute to the website and work your way up to being a Builder.
I wouldn't blame evazion if he never implemented Gold upgrades again.

As it is written now is correct, you can see your own uploaded loli/shota posts. The edit was based on incorrect infomration from a different user that was corrected by a mod.
You can contribute and become Builder, which also gives you unlimited tag searches.
If you don’t want to put in the time, you can also try your luck at one of the Platinum raffles, which were started specifically because Gold is currently unavailable.

Platinum doesn't grant *all* of the Builder benefits. I won't state which ones are missing. I did pay to get access to some features back then, they have been revoked and never given back.
You seem to be under the impression that Danbooru needs its own source of revenue to keep it alive. For all we know, evazion could be wealthy and paying for the site's costs out-of-pocket with money made from an outside job/business. The reason why I'm not convinced the gold/platinum user purchases were a primary source of income is because they were one-time purchases; in order for such a business model to succeed, the site would have to continuously get new users--Eventually it would have to change to a subscription-style model, as the addition of new users (and traffic) could overwhelm the site's infrastructure, requiring upgrades whose maintenance costs could dwarf any revenue made from acquiring new users.
Amen to that analysis. I know a well known adult content site whose owner mentioned a few times that "we don't need to worry about the income", without going into details for reasons that can be picked out of a box. I wouldn't be surprised if it were the case here as well.

Or, at least, won't immediately misuse them and prove it was a bad idea to promote you. Had a few of those recently. As long as you don't do anything stupid, you'll keep the rank for as long as your account exists, even if you stop contributing after the promotion.

The issue is that it seems that anything other than vanilla porn will not get approved. This site seems to just be a collection of stuff that ~15 people like and any post that does not appeal to them gets deleted.

Rule 34 Paheal doesn't even let you sign up unless they think you'll contribute to the site, do-not-repost art included as a few people I have subscribed and commissioned semi-exclusive work from can attest to, and they will not remove those images unless you give a lot of personal information from what I can tell.
EDIT: They recently added that restriction in place which is still ongoing right now, and you have to email them to do so in the first place to register on their site.

You can see which benefits each level gets in help:users. The only missing feature relevant to you is unlimited saved searches (but you can still save up to 1,000 with Platinum). Everything else is basically elevated edit permissions.
You can upload fetish porn and get to contributor, it just needs to consistently be high quality.
I managed to get one of my two uploads approved by someone, and I must admit it does fall under a specific fetish. I'm mostly just relieved that it got approved. I made sure to get the proper source and give it a number of tags too.
