Consistency with breasts outside, because that's how it's suppose to be used now that we have topless male.

I don't think it's a particularly good name honestly. Breasts_outside makes somewhat sense because they are large fat sacks, but aren't large pectorals more muscle? They're usually much more firm than breasts too.

This name is to drive home the point that it's equivalent to breasts outside, and while yeah pecs are firmer and more flat, they can still be drawn to a similar size to female breasts

That said I don't mind the current name too much, but it seems like it could cause confusion between it and topless male. So this name was suggested in the discord.
Suggestions are welcome for a better tag name.

Yeah, "bare pectorals" can be very easily be misunderstood to be for shirtless/topless male. It doesn't really drive home the point that it's just for the pecs alone to be out, while the character is still clothed.

I was thinking this too. "Outside" doesn't make much sense for something that is still relatively firm and flat regardless of how large they are. Given an opening, a breast is going to want to push itself out on it's own due to gravity, for a pectoral muscle it's generally going to stay inside until and unless something is done to the clothing that would cover it. Maybe pectorals_exposed instead?

Edit: or leaving it as bare_pectorals as you say, since that's basically equivelant

The bare_* tags are mutually exclusive with topless/shirtless.
So I don't see an issue there.

E: I just see that bare shoulders topless has more than 1k post in it and that frankly shouldn't be the case.

Bare chest was the tag's original name before I asked for a rename to bare pectorals after the discussion in forum #17392

Hopefully this alias will help discoverability. I also rewrote the wiki and removed all the parts that referred to shirtless (now topless male). The tag's use should be much clearer now.

Only thing left to do is gardening the posts that used bare pectorals instead of topless male for things like male swimwear etc. I have done quite a bit of it but any help would be appreciated.

This alias I'm asking for could be bare_chest_(clothed_male) but I thought that was a bit too cumbersome even for an alias.
But maybe it's an idea worth looking into for something that reads better?
