New Altera variation. That means 200+ new pictures of a new character in the coming days.

Funnily, that's the character that they once joked about not being a Saberface, and is the first non-Saberface Santa. Maybe it's on purpose.

It has become standard procedure for the Fate series to create (all) tags.

Yeah, for characters with several costume variations and several hundred/thousand pictures for each of these. Altera only had one costume so far, and 500 pictures in total. This new costume is not going to get 200 new pictures on danbooru by next christmas, let alone in the next couple of days.

+1. I think if we're doing (all) tags for Fate we should use them consistently. Having them for some and not for others is just going to increase the confusion around them.

Well, I technically agree with this stance.
We only need another Altera tag (imo they shouldn't be created and covered by a gentag search).
But if we go this way, then we won't run into de-implications issues when a new Altera form appears.

And so far it's always been cases of characters with multiple tags and high amounts of posts. This is a costume that has had FOUR pics in two days on the site.

I don't agree with keeping two different standards of tagging characters in the same franchise based only on tag size. This would keep things consistent and future proof. Since we're doing (all) tags already, is there any practical reason why we shouldn't be doing this?

Because useless implications and aliases make the site slower?
Because it makes searching by number of chartags pointless?
Because rather than trying to fix the fate mess we're making it ridiculously even more complex, to the point where there's posts that have three chartags for a single character (post #2950689, post #2949227)?

Can you imagine what'd happen if we started doing (all) tags for every single fate character that got a seasonal costume?

Oh, so you're just against the (all) tags in general. But since that's the direction we're already moving I don't think keeping things halfway done and inconsistent helps anything.

Actually, it was never discussed why we have even created so many split tag for each character variations but was instead done by mostly one user.
There are valid concerns and arguments that these tags should be purged all together.

That's not true at all. It was discussed extensively in forum #126876. I'm not sure what you mean by "done by mostly one user.".

The tags were created by KyteM and there was never a concensus to go with these tags, actually.
Actually, I don't really see one post mentioning the seasonal characters at the first few site. To me, these tags were just there suddenly but you don't really know why they were.

What? That's not true. All of the (all) tags were done properly with update requests. Some of them even by albert.

I mean tags like the swimsuit variations or another example would be mordred (swimsuit rider) (fate).
I don't really recall one discussion about the creation of these subtags. If there was one, I did probably miss it.

And if we could get rid of these tags (gentags searches) then there probably wouldn't be a need of the *_(all) tags. The *_(all) tags also wouldn't be necessary since we have OR searches....

If you want to mass eliminate a bunch of tags that's a discussion for a different thread.
