Here's how I use it. If the character Ash is with hasn't appeared in the anime yet, you can use the pokemon_(game) tag. Otherwise, don't.

According to post #2485620, they will all appear. Even if its not aired yet, the fanart is clearly the anime and not the game, at least in my opinion. Anyway, thanks to your quick answer.

I'm not too familiar with the pokemon copyright but shouldn't Pokemon Go implicate pokemon_(game) or do we consider this a sort of third estate next to the (anime) and (game) version of this copyright?

Similar to the Mystery Dungeon series and Pokémon Go.
Pokémon_(Game) should only go for the main games.
