Looks like it may be my fault. These games have several minor characters (the potentially rotating villagers), so it may've been laziness, lack of confidence or information, or maybe there were standing English tags (though the first reason keeps me from determining now).
All the characters I've noticed, there. Some might not need those qualifiers. If we're gonna go full-tilt to the original names, I would suggest... create alias animal_crossing -> doubutsu_no_mori ...with any EN -> JP qualified character aliases reading "*_(animal_crossing) -> *_(doubutsu_no_mori". IIRC, some characters have more than one name across the series, likely on the localized side.
Following the new Smash Brothers announcement, should we use Villager_(doubutsu_no_mori) or whatever the japanese word for "Villager" is?
On top of that, should we use the aforementioned name as a catch-all for the player characters in the series, or the specific one that appears in the Smash Brothers?

"Kate" is commonly seen "Labelle", but is also called "Label" by her sisters, Sable and Mabel. While the latter is safe to be label_able, I'm unsure if the former shouldn't be labelle_(animal_crossing), as a mononym.
