Do We *Really* Need Sweater Vest Tags?

I don't like the *_sweater_vest tags. I have no idea what the difference is between a regular vest and a sweater vest, beyond the fact that one is knitted like a sweater. I don't actually think they are that different inherently to not fall under the regular *_vest tags.

So before I waste everyone's time with a potentially horrible BUR, I'd like to ask: why do these tags exist? I could've sworn we've had a discussion about this before, but I can't find where, so now I can't tell if its all in my head or not.

Aside from the previous discussion, well yeah that's the difference. It also helps that sweater vests are common on school uniforms, so they have quite a lot of representation. I wouldn't want to group them with non-sweater vests, they look quite obviously different too.

I saw that, but it was more around what defined sweater vests from cardigan vests, which didn't answer my question.

Yeah, if these tags really do help people, I don't think getting rid of them would do us any good. Sorry for the forum topic, but better to be safe than sorry before running a horrendous BUR I think.

i think we have sweater vests tags because sweater vests are a common item in school uniforms in japan

just check school_uniform brown_sweater_vest for example

actually i think we could say the same about cardigans and colored serafuku tags
