I recommend you guys watch the episode 9 (the finale) before you check this BUR yourself. (I myself have watched it on theaters on roughly day 1...) And mark your spoilers where applicable (i.e.: anything not related to episode 9 can be free and unmarked, but episode 9 contents and such have to be marked!) and be respectful.

Spoiler names that get revealed late in a series are always a bit complicated when it comes to tagging. Without extensive knowledge of the copyright, keeping the main tag names the same is probably the right call, but I'm actually not aware of any precedent of having "spoiler" names as utility aliases.

We should be able to search for the human and circus appearances by themselves. It makes no sense to alias two very separate designs.

The human characters look wildly different from the circus variants, as well they are technically separate because they are scans of the original into the digital world. Don't see a reason to do the alias here, especially since no one looking up Pomni is going to be searching for Abigail.

You can't change the categories of tags that don't exist yet.

You could just like… chill and wait for it to happen. No reason to jump the gun.
Also, you can manually change the tag categories for tags with a low amount of posts, simply by prefixing it with char: or copy: etc on a relevant post, which it looks like somebody already did for these two.

if you're just worried about the wiki link colors being "incorrect" before any art gets uploaded, you could just add the tags to a post to get the category correct before immediately removing them.
