The example we will discuss is about Miyamizu Mitsuha, she regularly has her hair in a folded ponytail and a red hair ribbon. However, when she is possessed by Tachibana Taki, she wears a regular ponytail instead.
So what's the consensus on this scenario? Create a new subtag specifically for her, an example be Miyamizu Mitsuha (Tachibana Taki) because Taki is currently possessing her, or would just searching her tag and ponytail makes it more than enough?
the final boss of this question is Fushi (Fumetsu No Anata E), a character who spends almost the entire series in the appearance of other characters
Mortis (Persona) (Bang Dream!) is vaguely related I think. There's no visual differences, but behavioral ones, and the tag gets added accordingly. I think this would work fine if we also add hairstyle or clothing cues like this.

I'm only worried about members making mistakes in issuing tags.
This is a tagging nightmare which is probably why there is no prior discussion on it. Personally I think when he's in her body it'd be good to have a tag for searching it. Especially for images like post #9027398 where the whole point of the art is that he's in there.
If a sub tag is made for both of them though the natural conclusion is a dual implied character tag which I don't think has ever been done before? It would also make searching an already small roster copytag for them together harder so...
I think "possessed" is shorter as the qualifier. I'll create a favgroup then and decide it myself.
I think we should just create one tag, for example, "body switch" or something like that, or pool all the works like that, or both.

I agree and do think in the context of this series, Miyamizu Mitsuha + a qualifier is probably a good approach.
If this is done one needs to also be done for the inverse, though @Fenton do you recall off the top of her head what the diference is between Tachibana Taki's design normally and when she's in his body? I'm struggling to tell unless there is a lot of context clues post #2834209

When Mitsuha possesses Taki's body, he acts more girly than his original self like talking femininely.

Fushi have yellow eyes unlike most of the other characters he turns into.
