untag most of braided_ponytail?

I feel like >90% of posts tagged with braided ponytail don't actually feature a braided ponytail. From the wiki, it seems to mean when a character has a ponytail where the hair is braided, exemplified by characters like Aerith Gainsborough or Petra Macneary. However, if you look at what posts actually use this tag, the majority of them just feature characters that have their hair in a regular braid without a ponytail.

It's been noted to be used incorrectly in topic #26022, where a BUR was approved to remove it from posts with Raiden Shogun and Shenhe that commonly used the tag for those characters, despite neither of them having a braided ponytail. Makima's posts currently have this same problem, where around half of her ~10K posts use this tag despite her having braided hair that usually isn't in a ponytail.

Unfortunately, the incorrect tagging isn't kept to just certain popular characters. At 44K posts, the tag has probably been used too often and too incorrectly to salvage it manually, so I think it would be best to just remove it from every post that currently uses it (except for those two characters that were mentioned earlier) and later re-add it to every post where it does actually apply. Something like:

mass update braided_ponytail -aerith_gainsborough -petra_macneary -> -braided_ponytail

I didn't make a BUR in case there were other characters people could name who the tag also correctly applies to that should be excluded. Or if anyone disagreed / had a better idea.

Is post #11145895 not braided_ponytail? Both characters in topic #26022 had low-tied_long_hair styled into a braid, but Makima seems like a prime candidate for the tag.

I'm really not seeing the egregious mistagging you speak of; there's a lot of hair_over_shoulder posts, but those are still valid applications of braided_ponytail. I saw a couple of stupid examples such as post #11160659, but such mistags seem few and far between.

I actually don't think I would classify post #11145895 as braided ponytail, much like most of Makima's posts. To me, her normal hairstyle featured in most of her posts would just be tagged with braid or single braid since it isn't tied into a ponytail (although those tags are a bit broad since they also include side braids).

Here are three examples from the wiki: post #7767285, post #3544238 and post #7031146. In all of them you can see that their hair is tied at the back of their heads (i.e., they have their hair in ponytails) while also being braided. This isn't the case with Makima's hair, nor is it the case with a lot of posts tagged with braided ponytail, which is my issue.

Low ponytails exist, which is what Makima's is. It's not like Raiden or Shenhe, where the braid begins halfway down the character's torso.

I don't think Makima has a low ponytail. The wiki says a low ponytail is a ponytail "that is tied lower on the person's head, typically near the nape of the neck". I think post #5638641 is a good example, where you can see how the character's hair is tied fairly low on her head. You don't see Makima's hair tied near her head at all in official art or in fan art. It's typically just braided and tied off at the end. So I still don't see how her or any other character with hair like hers would be appropriately tagged with braided ponytail if their hair doesn't meet the requirement for a ponytail, which is to have it be tied somewhere at the back of their heads.

I agree that "braided_ponytail" should only be used for posts where the ponytail is tied quite high. Otherwise, it's just a regular braid.

A better solution would be to create a tag for regular braids...
