Proposal: separate tag for “hagaijime” (distinct from full nelson)

Posted under Tags

I would like to propose a new tag for a specific type of restraint currently grouped under “full nelson”.

This refers to a position where a character restrains another from behind by inserting both arms under the target’s armpits and holding their arms/shoulders, without lifting the opponent or locking behind the head.

Examples of the intended pose:

At present, this type of pose is usually tagged as “full nelson”. However, “full nelson” originally refers to a hold involving lifting and locking from behind the head, which differs significantly from this simpler restraint that only restricts the arms and armpits.

Additionally, “full nelson” is frequently used for both types without distinction:

In some cases, “armlock” is also used, but this tag is too broad and includes clearly different types of holds:

Because of this, I believe it would be beneficial to introduce a separate tag to distinguish this specific pose.
I would like to suggest “hagaijime” as a possible name for this tag.

You are right, even when looking full_nelson -folded most full nelson posts are paired with folded. I don't know why you are suggesting hagaijime as the name though, I would expect your examples to be tagged as armlock.

I will help gardening full nelson with folded at east

I agree that using “armlock” is a reasonable approach. However, since “armlock” is still relatively underused on Danbooru (less than 200 posts), I’m a bit concerned that its meaning might become too closely associated with this specific pose over time, even though it is originally a broader term.

From a long-term perspective, I thought it might be helpful to have a distinct tag that clearly represents this specific pose. I’m not particularly attached to creating a new term, and only suggested “hagaijime” as one possible example.
