A fanlight is a type of transom window which is semicircular or semioval with ribs radiating. See Wiktionary (which treats it as a hyponym of transom light) and Wikipedia.
And transom window is clearly a type of window.
fanlight to me sounds like penlight (glowstick). Are we sure that's a good name for the tag?

For clarity it would probably be better if the tag's name was fanlight window. My first thought seeing the name was the light fixtures that some ceiling fans have (which is included in the Wiktionary definition in the OP's link). While a google image search of "fanlight" gives the correct results in the first bit of images it quickly becomes images of ceiling fans with lights and adding a space to search "fan light" will give all ceiling fans.
