create alias arm_around_waist -> arm_around_another's_waist
remove alias arm_around_waist -> arm_around_another's_waist
create alias arms_around_waist -> arms_around_another's_waist

arm around waist is for 2 people, arm across waist is for 1 person.

Not sure how all of this relates to hand_on_own_arm, there seems to be a lot of overlap so worth considering. Feel free to propose counter BURs.

arm_around_own_waist sounds unnatural as if you're wrapping an arm around yourself instead of just placing it across your own torso. Either arm_across_waist or hand_on_opposite_hip sound more natural to me. The first can also encompass hand_on_own_arm the other doesn't, so picking one or the other would change the granularity.

I couldn't even finish this sentence in my head because I now realized we have arm around back and arm behind back and arm behind another's back and still don't have a tag for arms wrapped around one's own back, like post #8876147... Time for the fourth topic about arms.

For now I created arm_around_own_back.

i didn't know arm across waist was a tag. probably massively untagged since i thought we have arm under breasts and arm under pectorals?

the wiki is weird btw it says "A character's holding their arm across their own waist." but that sounds like hand on own arm

Yeah, no idea, we have a lot of overlap. I suppose arm across waist is for when it reaches the hip rather than lifting the breasts by getting raised, but not sure. Might need another round of disambiguations.

Welp, I just discovered we also have hand_on_own_opposite_hip...

Arm across waist include hand on own arm(post #3250913), hand on own opposite hip(post #9377195), holding something across waist (post #9114214), or just across/around own waist (post #8163119).
I think hand on own opposite hip is just one type of arm across waist.
But I noticed an exception here: post #8564962 (hand on own opposite hip but with arm behind back...)

I think "arm_across_own_back" might be more useful, as it could include simply placing one's arm across their back, hand on own opposite hip, also most of hand_on_own_arm arm_behind_back.
Can use hand on own opposite hip whether it's in front or behind.

Perhaps adding "own" to arm across waist, arm across chest, arm across neck would be better. (even arms across body)
